Merlin

merlin_212MERLIN BEFORE

Hi, I’m Merlin, the life of the party. I play all day, only problem is, I play alone. There is no party for me here. I have been here at the shelter for three years and still can’t impress anyone enough to take me home. I have learned over the years to entertain myself and I guess it backfired because when people come to see me, I’m so interested in my toys that I can’t tear myself away to go say hi to prospective adopters. Everyone at the shelter loves me and knows that once I know you, I roll over for belly rubs and my tongue hangs out and I’m sooooooo happy. But no one has stayed long enough to see that side of me. I had a female companion until about 8 months ago, but she got adopted and I don’t really hit it off with other males. I like them but they don’t seem to like me. Anyway, I’m so handsome, and fun to play with. I love to walk on the leash and I DO love people and want a home of my own so badly. I am only 5 years old  and all alone. Merlin is currently in Miami at Pet Rescue counting the hours until he will be in his new home!ld now, but if I don’t find a home soon, I am afraid that I won’t have any takers. Please come meet me, I don’t want to spend the next 10 years in the shelter.

MERLIN AFTER

From Merlin’s new mom:

“Hi, just wanted to tell you how wonderful Merlin is doing.  He is soooooooo sweet.  His personality continues to blossom.  He is really loving having a family and a home.  He has shaped up with all of the exercise and has a nice cut waist!  He and Lulu have worn a trench in the backyard chasing each other around!  He does Lizard patrol every day.  He loves his long walks (at least two a day).  In the beginning he would save part of his food (he must have been trying to make it last).  Now he has realized that he will be fed twice a day, so he eats it all up each time.  He is just a pure love!  LuLu adores him and he her.  They play so well together.  He has such nice manners and never tries to get in the garbage or onto the furniture.  They are so funny with their beds…they switch sides and no problem out of either.  It is first come first serve as to which one they occupy.

Again, many thanks to all who cared for him!!!!”
