Rainey

Hi – It’s Jana Sheeder.

I’m desperate. I need your help, please!!!

In January, I found a young white boxer staggering down the
middle of a busy road in the Redlands, Florida. She had no
collar, no microchip, was emaciated, and had been “tagged” by
a car (blood on her leg, but no injury). Cars were zooming by
(not even slowing down).

We hung multiple “Found” signs for her (and placed newspaper
ads), but she wasn’t reclaimed.

She was such a lovebug. She seemed starved for attention. We
vetted her. She was spayed, and is now up-to-date on shots,
her fecal and heartworm tests were negative, she’s healthy,
and she is on monthly Trifexis. She’s beautiful — floppy ears
and long tail. Our vet told us that  her age is about 1 and
1/2 years old  He says
that she’s a white Boxer.  We named her Rainey.

As she has regained her health, she is now coming into her
own and is  VERY muscular and strong and  VERY active and
energetic. Since we have only elderly dogs, we must keep them
separated from her because she is strong and has been dominant
over them and hurt them in the past. We have a great trainer,
Edel Miedes of K9 Advisors and have  been training her
multiple times a day.  We’ve never dealt with a big, strong
dog, and she needs someone with experience to work with her.
All of our dogs are acting differently since she’s been here.
One hides all the time, another won’t leave her dog bed, and
another is getting more and more depressed. We are worried
about their physical (and mental) health.

Rainey has done so well with the training, but she needs more
(and someone with experience).

We can’t keep her for our own, as our home is not able
to accommodate a young, strong dog like her. We have no
experience and it is not fair to our other dogs.

She needs someone with boxer (or tough/young/muscular dog)
experience!

At the present time we are spending all of our time with her,
and we are neglecting our dogs, our (human) family, and own
medical issues, and our work. EVERYTHING is suffering.

Can someone please help?! I’m truly desperate.

Even if you or your group, personally, can’t help, if you know
of someone who can, please send this to them! If you know of
someone who is good at (ethically) training dogs and wants to
take her as a project, we’re all for it. If you know of an
out-of-state group who would like to help her, we’ll help make
it happen! We will do whatever it takes. She needs more than
we can offer her.

Thank you soooo much,

Jana
