My Husband,  Travis, and I were looking to adopt and give a dog a new beginning.  We went to every shelter from Marathon to Homestead. Since we reside in the Keys, it was very hard to get off the island to look for a pup. We turned to the internet for more luck. Sure enough, it worked and we headed north to Miami!  As soon as my husband and I saw Rylee, we both looked at each other and said “He’s the one.”  I’ll never for get the way he wanted out of the Kennel so badly, jumping up and down with those handsomly masked eyes and a smile from ear to ear.  I think he knew when he saw us that ’we were the ones.’ Once we brought Rylee to his new home he was in heaven. He has a huge yard to run around in and climb trees in too.  We take Rylee everywhere we go even out to dinner. Of course we sit outside. We are very active people and it suits Rylee just fine. We take our 4-wheeler out for runs to a hidden rock quary about a mile away and Rylee is right there running beside us and through the trails. He so excited to go for bike rides with us too. We use a rope to keep him out of traffic and he pulls us around. Once we get to a destination to hike we let him go wild. If he gets out of our sights then we do a certain whistle and he comes running to us!  He loves going on boats, jet ski’s, paddle boats and trying to get the manatee’s  in the basin but, he hates the water. Were still working on that aquatic ability but, I really don’t see it happening anytime soon.  Since we adopted Rylee he has made a complete turn around. When we adopted him he didn’t know his name and had selective hearing. He would pull me when we went for walks and always take off running. I can now say that  he knows his name, he is no longer on a leash (only bike riding), and when I let him outside he lets me go first! Such manners. He stays in the yard and has his spot in the yard to kick back, relax and enojy the beautiful Florida Keys.
And like every dog he has tricks too! Sit, gimme’ paw, gimme’ other paw, Hang Ten, laydown and roll over!  We are the 2 proudest dog owners EVER!
